THREE GAMES-IN-ONE
The Letters & Sounds edition of Word Cub includes three exciting activities. Three times the value makes three times the fun. Here's what you get:

Letter Match. The perfect place to start on the road to reading. How many letters can your child match? Act quick, before time runs out. Children receive gentle re-enforcement so they learn their letters faster. They'll delight in popping bubbles and hearts at the end of every game. The more they match, the more they get to pop. Contains over 200 words.

Word Discovery. Your child explores how words are formed through touching, tapping and swiping the alphabet blocks. A word appears, its letters immediately sound aloud. Sound any letter again with just a tap. Does your child know the word? They can check their answer with a simple swipe across. Want a new word? Just swipe down. Includes dozens of spoken words.

Sound Match. They've seen and heard how words are formed. Now your child is challenged to tap the letter sounds they've learned. How many sounds can they identify before time runs out? The cheering crowd grows larger with every correct match. With over 200 words.

"I found Word Cub to be very well done. It does an effective job teaching these early reader skills."   - TheIPhoneMom.com

Designed by Dad the developer and Mom the educator then improved by a team of preschoolers through multiple rounds of testing.

Soothing colors and sounds keep your child's focus on letters and the sounds they make. Fun rewards and a tactile experience keep them playing and learning longer.

Set your app preferences via the 'i' icon on the main menu screen.

Under preferences you can choose how letters display: in lower or upper case. We include the option because some beginning letter-matchers are more familiar with upper case letters. Most story books appear in lower case so, as Montessori suggests, teaching letter sounds in lower case prepares them for reading.

Also under preferences select which phonetic concepts your child sees. For beginners, choose 'a,e,i,o & u'. Children will see basic three letter words with short vowel sounds. After they've been playing a while choose some of the consonant blends. Now children will see and hear how more complex words are formed while still seeing words they've already become familiar with. Concepts makes this app a lasting value.

Help provided for all three activities in pictures, voice and words.
